IT Engineer
at Payment Express Ltd (PEX) in Ebene
The main role of the IT Engineer position is to provide support on databases and perform Migration from test to Production environment used at Payment Express Ltd (PEX). This role is responsible for setting up, configuring, maintaining, and investigating bugs, liaising with the vendors for solutions, implementing policies and procedures necessary to ensure the security and integrity of databases. The ideal candidate should be able to handle tasks like IT Security, architecture design and data warehousing.
Specific Duties
• Manage databases within the organisation;
• Investigate and resolve problems in respect to the databases used in PEX’s environment;
• Identify solutions to work around open issues / problems that are under investigation or pending resolution;
• Work directly with PEX’s customers to configure and find solutions for new projects;
• Document, and track, case histories, issues and actionable steps taken;
• Perform company software research, testing, and recommendations;
• Improve documentation of policies and procedures;
• Perform quality assurance testing of new releases;
• Provided technical support training to other team members;
• Perform controlled migration from Test System to Production environment across platforms.
Knowledge and Skills
• Good understanding of Oracle, SQL;
• Fundamental understanding of Unix, AIX;
• Fundamental understanding of IT Security and IT Audit;
• Broad understanding of Microsoft Office products;
• Knowledge of all standard hardware and software systems;
• Previous experience troubleshooting database-related problems;
• Knowledge of information systems concepts and terminology;
• Ability to communicate with a wide variety of people verbally and written;
• Strong analytical skills;
• Skilled at managing multiple priorities;
• Assist in identifying project scope; outline steps for completion; manage project deadlines;
• Process improvement and measurement skills;
• Interpersonal, presentation, communication, negotiations.
